The Ladies Aid at St. John's Lutheran Church is a fellowship of Christian women dedicated to serving the Lord, caring for our congregation, and supporting one another in faith and friendship. Through acts of service, hospitality, and fellowship, Ladies Aid plays an important role in the life of our church.

Monthly Meetings and Fellowship

Ladies Aid meets monthly to enjoy fellowship, discuss upcoming activities, and coordinate the many ways its members serve the congregation. These gatherings provide an opportunity for women to connect with one another, share ideas, and work together in support of the church's ministry.

In addition to regular meetings, Ladies Aid enjoys special events and fun activities throughout the year. These occasions offer opportunities to build friendships, enjoy one another's company, and strengthen the bonds of Christian fellowship.

Caring for the Altar and Sanctuary

One of the most important responsibilities of Ladies Aid is caring for the altar and preparing the sanctuary for worship. Members help set up Holy Communion, ensuring that the bread and wine are prepared for the congregation's reception of Christ's body and blood.

Ladies Aid also helps care for the church's paraments, the beautiful colored cloths that adorn the altar, pulpit, and other furnishings. These are changed according to the seasons of the Church Year, helping the congregation mark the great events of Christ's life and the teachings of the Christian faith.

Much of this work happens quietly behind the scenes, but it is an important contribution to the reverent and orderly worship life of St. John's.

Funeral Meals and Caring for Grieving Families

Ladies Aid provides a particularly meaningful service by organizing and preparing meals for families following funerals. These meals offer a place for grieving families and friends to gather, share memories, encourage one another, and enjoy fellowship after the funeral service.

By coordinating food, setting up tables, serving meals, and cleaning up afterward, Ladies Aid helps relieve families of practical concerns during a difficult time. This ministry of hospitality is a tangible expression of Christian love and compassion for those who mourn.

Hospitality and Congregational Events

Hospitality is at the heart of much of what Ladies Aid does. Members help organize coffee hours, provide refreshments, and assist with other congregational gatherings throughout the year.

Whether preparing coffee and treats after worship, welcoming visitors, or helping with special church events, Ladies Aid contributes to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of St. John's. These gatherings provide valuable opportunities for members of different generations to get to know one another and enjoy the fellowship of the congregation.

Serving Christ by Serving Others

The work of Ladies Aid reflects the Christian calling to love and serve our neighbors. Some of its contributions are highly visible, while others take place quietly and faithfully behind the scenes. All of them help support the worship, fellowship, and daily life of our congregation.

Ladies Aid also provides an opportunity for women to share their gifts and talents, develop lasting friendships, and find meaningful ways to participate in the life of the church.
